Dark Matters Track Chat #4

This Track Chat shines the spotlight on forthcoming single If Something’s Gonna Kill Me (It Might As Well Be Love), with Baz, JJ and Louie discussing how this song developed over time, morphing into a catchy Stranglers meets electro-pop/Kraftwerk hybrid. Written about Dave’s passing, JJ reveals the touching content of the lyrics referring to his friend and bandmate of 45 years. More exciting news will follow about this track next week and don’t forget to pre-order the forthcoming album Dark Matters here

Dark Matters Track Chat #3

In the latest installment of Track Chat, JJ, Baz and Louie chat about the magnum opus that is White Stallion, which was one of the last tracks they worked on with Dave. Lyrically, it concentrates on the diminishing influence of the West, and especially America, on the world. At the band’s behest, Louie went to town on the track’s production making it both ‘epic and massive’ sonically. Again, White Stallion illustrates the diversity on Dark Matters. Dark Matters Track Chat #2

This episode of Track Chat concentrates on the song The Lines with JJ, Baz and Louie chatting about the lyrics, music and capturing it on tape in the studio at the first attempt. As Baz says ‘what you hear on the record is the one and only take’. Along with And If You Should See Dave…, The Lines shows the diversity of Dark Matters and more will be revealed in future Track Chats showcasing other songs from the album (which you can pre-order here). Keep checking our website and social media for forthcoming Dark Matters updates ahead of release day…

‘The Lines’ video

The forthcoming album Dark Matters contains a quirky, but simple, little gem entitled The Lines.
Its lyrics are a delicate & emotive vignette on the visible signs of ageing. Its music features acoustic guitar with a hint of keyboards all captured in one take in the recording studio. The track also has an accompanying promo video which portrays the song’s feeling perfectly… Ladies & gentlemen, The Lines

The first track chat features the song Payday which was premiered live on the band’s UK tour back in 2019.
